About Community Resources for Justice

For over 100 years, Community Resources for Justice has been improving public safety while helping some our society's most challenged individuals develop their full potential.

We help men and women released from incarceration to successfully re-enter mainstream society; we steer at-risk youth away from crime and towards productive lives; we offer adults with developmental disabilities the chance to flourish while living in the community. Our national-scale research and consulting practice accelerates system-level changes in corrections policy by using evidence-based practices.

We strengthen individuals, families, and communities. We are Community Resources for Justice.

Honoring
James T. Brett
President and CEO, The New England Council
Thanks for joining us for our annual Spring Reception at the new,
beautiful Red Lantern restaurant in Boston's historic Back Bay.

We want to thank everyone who joined us in honoring James T. Brett. The Red Lantern was a perfect venue choice for this year's event and the food and service were simply fantastic!

This year's event highlighted the work of CRJ's Community Strategies; the division that provides individuals with mental illness or mental retardation, severe psychiatric or intellectual and developmental disabilities, or complex medical needs with specialized residential or community-based services. The event featured a fabulous silent auction, delicious Asian cuisine, and a video tribute to Jim Brett.

Brett was honored to be recognized and spoke highly of CRJ's work. He said:

"Justice," said Daniel Webster, "is the greatest interest of man on earth." CRJ is committed to that proposition, and for many years it has been a leader—not only locally, but nationally—in seeking to find, and to fund, practical ways to make justice not simply an ideal, but a reality.

The great thing about CRJ is that it has combined high-mindedness with level-headedness. Program design is important, but program success is essential. CRJ's emphasis on evidence-based practices helps keep a real-world focus on its many projects, and the proof is in the pudding.

We were proud to honor Jim for his many contributions to our community. The president and chief executive officer of the New England Council, Jim has made many contributions in the fields of intellectual disabilities and criminal justice - both areas being central to the mission of CRJ.

The event was a great success, but we still need your support to reach our fundraising goal. If you are still interested in supporting CRJ through this year's event please click on the register button at the top of this page.
